I'm Ashley Krautkramer, RD, CSOWM, CD, CDCES, founder of Vegan Bariatric Dietitian. I have been a bariatric dietitian for nearly 10 years and in that time learned all the ins and outs of supporting the nutrition of those having bariatric surgery.
I've also been vegan myself since 2006 and vegetarian for four or so years before that. I started my business, Vegan Bariatric Dietitian, to combine my two passions: bariatric surgery nutrition and plant-based nutrition.

What kind of support will I get?

Is this program for me if I just had surgery?
Yes, this program is for you if you just had surgery. Some information may come before you reach that diet stage, but you will have the information to reference once you get to that stage.
Is this program for me if I had surgery many years ago?
Yes, this program is for you if you had surgery many years ago. A small amount of the information is geared toward earlier diet stages, but most is relevant for all times after surgery.
Can I join this program if I’m not eating fully plant-based?
Absolutely. I welcome everyone that is vegan, vegetarian, somewhere in between, or aspiring to be. If you want to learn about and be supported in being plant-based after bariatric surgery, this is the place for you.
Is this program a replacement for the care I receive at my bariatric surgery program?
No, this program does not replace your bariatric program. It is meant as an educational and support compliment to your bariatric program.
Can you guarantee that I will lose weight by joining this program?
No, I cannot guarantee that you will lose weight. Weight loss is complex, multifactorial, and can have many causes beyond what you eat. I can guarantee that you will feel supported, listened to, and learn the skills you need to be a confident plant-based eater after bariatric surgery.
